How learning by doing works on our trips
Experiential learning, or learning by doing, follows a simple cycle: experience something real, reflect on it, connect it to theory and try it again. Our trips build each step in.
- Before: a one-page briefing sheet with what to observe
- During: a guided visit with an observation task
- After: a reflection session linking what students saw to the syllabus
It works for engineering plant visits, field surveys in geography and ecology, and heritage walks in history.
